How to Repair Windows Update Services

Windows Update Services :If Windows Update isn’t working properly, follow these simple steps to fix it:

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator
    Press Win+s, type “Command Prompt”, right-click it, and select “Run as Administrator”.
  2. Stop Windows Update 
    Type the following commands one by one and press enter after each:

    net stop wuauserv
    net stop cryptSvc
    net stop bits
    net stop msiserver
    
  3. Delete Update Files
    Remove old update files by typing these commands:

    rmdir C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution /s /q
    rmdir C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 /s /q
    
  4. Restart Repair Windows Update Services
    Start the update services again by entering:

    net start wuauserv
    net start cryptSvc
    net start bits
    net start msiserver
    
  5. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter
    Open Settings (Win+I), go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters,
    select Windows Update, and click Run the troubleshooter.
  6. Restart Your Computer
    Reboot your PC to apply the changes.
  7. Try Running Windows Update Again
    Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.

Following these steps should resolve most Windows Update .
