Registry Error

Safe Registry Repair Guide

  • Backup the Registry: Create a backup before any changes by pressing Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter. Save the file in a safe location. Confirm the import to restore.
  • Create a System Restore Point: Press Win + R, type sysdm.cpl, and press Enter. Go to the System Protection tab. Click Create, name the restore point, and save it.
  • Use Windows Built-in Tools: Run System File Checker (SFC) to repair corrupt system files. If SFC fails, run DISM to repair Windows Image.
  • Use a Trusted Registry Cleaner: Use tools like CCleaner carefully, avoid automatic “fix-all” registry cleaners.
  • Check for Malware: Run a full scan with Windows Defender or a trusted antivirus.
  • Perform a System Restore: Boot into Advanced Startup Mode, choose System Restore, and select a restore point if the registry is severely corrupted.
