Enable or Fix Teredo Tunneling Adapter on Windows

If you’re experiencing issues with the Teredo Tunneling Adapter on Windows, follow these steps to enable or fix it:

  1. Open Device Manager
    Press Win + X, then select Device Manager. Click View in the menu and choose Show Hidden Devices.
  2. Locate the Teredo Tunneling Adapter
    Find the Teredo Tunneling Adapter under the Network Adapters section.
  3. Install the Adapter Manually 
    If the adapter is missing, right-click Network Adapters and select Add legacy hardware to manually install it.
  4. Enable or Restart the Adapter
    If the Teredo Adapter is disabled, right-click it and choose Enable. If it’s already enabled, you can try restarting it.
  5. Check Teredo Status Using Command Prompt
    Open Command Prompt as Administrator and type netsh interface teredo show state to check the adapter’s status.
  6. Enable Teredo via Command Prompt
    To enable Teredo, type netsh interface teredo set state type=enter priseclient  and press Enter.
  7. Restart Your Computer
    Restart your PC to apply the changes.
