How to Uninstall Norton 360 Completely from Your PC
To completely uninstall Norton 360 from your PC, follow these steps:
- Close Norton 360 to ensure it is not running in the background.
- Use Control Panel to uninstall Norton 360:
- Press Win + R, type
appwiz.cpl, and press Enter. - Locate Norton 360 in the list and select “Uninstall.”
- Press Win + R, type
- Restart your computer to complete the uninstallation.
- Download and run the Norton Removal Tool from the Norton website.
- Check for leftover files and registry entries in the following directories:
C:\Program Files\NortonC:\Program Files (x86)\NortonC:\ProgramData\Norton
- Clean up using the Registry Editor (optional):
- Press Win + R, type
regedit, and press Enter. - Navigate to and delete any Norton-related entries:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NortonHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Norton
- Caution: Be careful when modifying the registry, as incorrect changes can harm your system.
- Press Win + R, type
- Restart your computer again to ensure all changes take effect.
- Check for remaining services in Task Manager under the Services tab.
- Verify the uninstallation by checking that Norton 360 is no longer listed in Programs and Features or in the Start menu.
