How to Repair Windows Update Services
Windows Update Services :If Windows Update isn’t working properly, follow these simple steps to fix it:
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator
Press Win+s, type “Command Prompt”, right-click it, and select “Run as Administrator”. - Stop Windows Update
Type the following commands one by one and press enter after each:net stop wuauserv net stop cryptSvc net stop bits net stop msiserver
- Delete Update Files
Remove old update files by typing these commands:rmdir C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution /s /q rmdir C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 /s /q
- Restart Repair Windows Update Services
Start the update services again by entering:net start wuauserv net start cryptSvc net start bits net start msiserver
- Run Windows Update Troubleshooter
Open Settings (Win+I), go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters,
select Windows Update, and click Run the troubleshooter. - Restart Your Computer
Reboot your PC to apply the changes. - Try Running Windows Update Again
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.
